Flexion-Distraction (AKA: Cox Technique)
This technique was developed in the early 1960s by Dr. James Cox, DC, DACBR. It is a gentle, safe, and a very controlled treatment for spinal pain. Flexion-distraction decreases intradiscal pressure in the spinal canal and adds need motion to spinal joints. Flexion-distraction has very few contraindications do to how specific and gentle the treatment is. The main contraindication is an acute injury.
